The mkgmap program takes OpenStreetMap data and generates a map in the Garmin .img file format so that it can be loaded onto compatible GPS units.

This program converts OpenStreetMap data into a map that can be loaded onto a Garmin GPS device. It does the conversion in one step without depending on any other program.

This page contains free GPS maps for Garmin units. The maps were generated from OpenStreetMap data by a program I wrote. I cannot guarantee the quality of the map. I do my best while converting the maps, but my conversion tool and OpenStreetMap are projects in development. There are still thing that need to be done in my converter and there are still blank areas on OSM map.
